British Canoeing have designed several awards to help you become confident on the water and eventually be able to paddle confidently by yourself.
The Discover Award is one of the first awards you can achieve from British Canoeing and it is designed to develop your decision making and practical skills for a fun and safe time on the water, taking you on the next steps towards becoming a proficient and independent paddler.
You will learn how to choose and effectively use equipment, whilst developing an understanding of the factors which affect your paddling; giving you the confidence to progress to making your own choices with the Explore Award.
At the end of the two days we will assess your learning and if you reach the level required you will be awarded with the Discover Award. If you still require a little more time on the water practicing you will be invited back int the spring for reassessment.
